Kristin’s passion for the creative was fueled at a very young age with she won a 1st place ribbon for a chicken drawing. Yet it wasn’t until high school that she found her calling – costume design. Receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Textile and Clothing from California State University, Long Beach, she was able to propel her dream forward by interning at the NBC/Universal costume department, small film productions, and by starting a costume design blog, Fashion for the Geek. The blog's mission is to provide greater awareness of the important role a costume designer plays in production. Through this pet project, she has gained a network of passionate friends and contributed to websites like Clothes on Film and Tyranny of Style.

In 2012 she won Most Innovative at the CSULB Campus Couture Fashion Show and this design was chosen to be part of the ITAA live target market gallery. Since graduating Kristin has worked on student films as a costume designer and a costumer. In 2014, 2015, and 2016 she was a finalist in the Her Universe “Geek Couture” Fashion Show at San Diego Comic-Con, this brought together her passion for costume design and fashion. Kristin is currently working as a production coordinator and owner of Kawaii Pizza Crafts.
